We enjoyed Logan's fireworks at our usual spot on 1400 North and almost 800 East. The Norman's are kind enough to save the spot and the White's join the party. This year we had Truman Moultry come too! If you haven't met him yet, check out Moultry Maddness on my blog. He is cute!

Hyrum City Program

Each year on the Sunday before the 4th of July, Hyrum City has a special program at the square. We all come and bring chairs and blankets. We sit with good friends and neighbors.

This year was extra special because it is the 150th year celebration of Hyrum City's
establishment. They had a guy come as Ira Allen, a founder of Hyrum, and give a brief history of his first years in Hyrum. It was pretty good.
My favorite part of the program is that they honor all the veterans that are there. They play part of each branch of the military's theme song, and the veterans stand that served in that branch while their song is played.
I don't know why it always gets to me.
Old men stand,
young men stand,
women stand,
they look so proud of their service.
I am thankful for them.

This is my dad and my girls.

My dad has always been a hard worker. He is one of the most kind people that I know. He is funny when he wants to be and tough when he has to be. He is so loveable to my kids and always has room on his lap for them. Even when they have out grown it!

He has helped them learn how to take care of their show steers, make whistles from willow trees, milk goats, build a warm fire, make jelly rolls, shine their shoes, and many other things, some that I am grateful for and others not so much! They surely didn't get their stubborness from me!

The river is fed by a "hot pot" so the water is pretty nice.

Savanna loved getting in the water! It was a toasty (not!) 62 degrees!

The air temp was about 70 degrees. Not exactly a warm combination. Relaxing after a day of fishing!

Ouch!

We had an accident on the 18th of June. The funny thing about this accident is that I have no clue how it happened.
This four-year-old had a bad crash below the Red Barn. I don't know what he did but in the four hours that we were gone, he had torn his whole chest open and cut his back leg all up when we returned. Luckily, the horse had the common sense to wander back to the barn so we would see him and also, the vet was planning to preg check for us later that day. She said that he will probably be sound, but not for at least six months.
And I just had the farrier put new shoes on the week before so we could use him!

He has been very easy to get along with. He had to have a shot every day for a week and then I have had to re-wrap his wound several times. This makes healing so much better! We just let him wander around the barn yard for the first week because he was so sore he wouldn't wander too far and he could eat down all the grass around the barn!

These pictures were taken one week later. He had started to play with the stitches so Cody and I rigged up this "bra" for him. It actually worked really well. He kept it on for about a week. Long enough for the stitches to heal -well sort of heal.
I am glad that I can take care of him without being grossed out but I am also glad that I am not a vet!

Girls Camp was great! The theme was "Gratitude is Attitude" Sherleen came up with the whole thing and it was fabulous! I felt very inspired to have her and we were so blessed to be able to be with her.

The River Bottoms was the perfect place to have camp. The girls were almost always in the river.

The Youth Leaders liked going on their own personal horseride.

I had the best camp director, Sherleen, and her helpers: Joann, Ginger, and Alexis.

My counselors: Marcy, Colette, Vickie and Lisa.
It was very relaxing--once we got there--and fun!
