We had a great party at Marge's house on Christmas Eve. As always, there was enough food to feed a small army. It is so fun to get together. The great-grand-kids performed the Nativity story. Everyone was here this year except the B White family. We fill the house!

Last Day of Summer

On the last day before school started, the girls and I decided to celebrate. Bryan had to go to Dillon to the sale.

After Sierra's soccer practice, we met at Firehouse and had a delicious dinner.

Next, we went home and played our favorite game, Scrabble (I know, not the most exciting, but we love it) and Savanna beat us both!

After that I remembered that we had a couple of boxes of sparklers left over from the 4th of July so we lit those.

It was so fun just to spend time with them before they headed off to school. I hate losing my best help but most of all I hate that they are getting closer and closer to leaving the nest.

It's fair time again! It was the first year in ten that we haven't had a child with an animal in the Jr. Livestock program.
I missed all the fun things like:
walking the steer every day at my dad's
watching my kids do their best and smile--even though they didn't win
saying goodbye to a pet that has become attached to my heart for taking such good care of my kids and teaching them more than I ever could, and watching my kids, boy and girls, old and young cry and tell them good bye as well.
It is so much work and worry but as always, the good out-weigh the bad!

Cute Girls

A couple of weeks ago we all went to the cabin.
The girls went for a hike to the Frog Pond while Bryan and I went to check on the cattle in the valley.
Sierra was practicing for her 50 hike to the Teton's so she had her back pack with her.
Savanna was practicing her photo skills so she had her camera with her. I think she did pretty good with the pond.

We had a great time at Cinnamon Creek! We all went up on Friday and had dinner that was to die for: sweet pork and burrito fixings! We are pretty good at eating every time we get together!

Each family had to put a skit together. Our family did the Ya Toast song. The White's did the Chicken Dance, the Norman's did the Ugliest Man, and the Summers did 2 Suckers on a Stick. We are all such thespians:) (not)

The next morning some of us went for a lovely hike to the Yurt and then breakfast was served. Wade brought his dad's sourdough pancakes and they were delicious!

Di had a cute HOME craft for all the girls and the kids got to paint bird houses while the men were supposed to be putting down the tents. Bryan had it easy, we had the camper!

Thanks Di for putting it all together for us! Can't wait till next year's Chicken Dance!

Grandpa Rony

This is my dad and my girls.

My dad has always been a hard worker. He is one of the most kind people that I know. He is funny when he wants to be and tough when he has to be. He is so loveable to my kids and always has room on his lap for them. Even when they have out grown it!

He has helped them learn how to take care of their show steers, make whistles from willow trees, milk goats, build a warm fire, make jelly rolls, shine their shoes, and many other things, some that I am grateful for and others not so much! They surely didn't get their stubborness from me!

Every year for Memorial Day we go to Paradise for the Firefighter's breakfast. It is delicious! (any meal not cooked by me always is) After, we spend the next couple of hours touring the cemetary. We go to Paradise, Hyrum, Wellsville, and Avon.
This year we also delivered salt on the 4-wheeler to some yearling steers, and chased some cows that had escaped into the neighbors field.
It was a nice day to remember those brave men and women who have protected our country and have paid the ultimate price.

Scooters

These scooters came to our house about 10 years ago.
We have seen many crashes, scrapes, road rash, and bruises over the years.

But, we have had so much fun with them that I would suggest them as a gift for any kid!

(along with a nice helmet, gloves, and knee pads!)

Sierra and Savanna are good help when it comes to feeding. Ok, so they don't exactly love it, but I am always glad to have them near!

It was too snowy and muddy to find eggs outside this year,
so we chose them from a basket!

We don't often get as much snow as we did this year for Easter. It was not warm and it looked funny to see the colored eggs on Paradise town square laying on top of about 5 inches of snow. It was nice to get together with family and share a nice meal and good company and remember the importance of the season!

Our Humanitarian project

We had a terrific week for spring break! We did something fun every day.

Monday was spent at the Rock Haus. Savanna is an excellent climber!

Tuesday was rainy, so we tied a quilt for the Humanitarian Center.

Wednesday we went to Flowrider. This was so cool! I was very intimidated--ok so I was afraid of wiping out and doing serious damage to my body! It ended up being so much fun! You could choose to either stand and surf or lay on a boogie board. I chose the boogie board but the girls each tried to surf. In the photo, Sierra is holding onto the rope to steady herself. After you let go of the rope you either continue to stand or you fall!

Thursday was shopping day. The girls each got an Easter dress. It was a little difficult to find something modest for each of them, but we finally did. Bryan met us in Salt Lake and we went to dinner and then stayed overnight.

Friday, Bryan went to load cattle in Skull Valley and the girls and I did a little more shopping before we went home. We then went to the temple with the rest of the Young Women in our ward. It was a great week that I hate to see come to an end.

Only 8 more weeks of school!
