Another Purchase!

Well, we did it again.  We bought another horse.  We did sell three this summer so we definitely need to  replenish our supply.  We sold the old dun horse Jack.  I felt bad about that,  but he went to live with our hired man's  parents in Fillmore (Ty).  We also sold Applesauce the buckskin, and Boon the roan to McKay at Coldwater.
This guy is a yearling from Rexburg and his papers say he is a grulla roan which is just a fancy way to say that he will probably go grey.  He does look most grulla now, especially with long hair.  This horse is a bit fine boned and leggy for my liking but he does have a cute head.
I hope to be on him next year at this time and telling everyone I love him!

Cowboy Jason

We needed a little help gathering the spring cows from Maple Rise so we ask Jason to come and ride with us.  We put him on our best horse and away we went.  He did a great job!  Thanks, Jason.

Sorting cows from the calves.  You almost always let the cows leave the calves.  The calves will not leave the cows-- usually.

Big Al on the gate.  Thanks, Allan!

Jackson's 22nd

This is my boy and his friends having cake and ice cream for his birthday.  The dark hair next to him seems to be over here alot.  She is cute.  We'll see what happens

Before and After

Can you believe the difference?  It is so nice not to worry about cattle escaping when we run them in the corral!  It is much less adventurous.  Alma worked hard to get it all welded together.

Jackson in the Fall

Once again we stayed at our favorite little place in Jackson, Wyoming, the Parkway.  It is cozy and close to town.  They have this great little patio outside of our room and the room has a separate room for the girls to stay in that has a sliding door for privacy.  It is great and the weather was perfect this year--which doesn't always happen.

This is Francis of Asisi and Sierra and Savanna are invading his peaceful thoughts.

In case you were wondering, the antlers are still there!

This is the scale house where Bryan weighs the cattle.

The scenery here is amazing!  This ranch is as pretty a place as there is around.  The cattle gain weight so well here in these meadows.  I feel so lucky to be abe to come here and enjoy it.
This is Bryan and Denny helping me load the trucks now that the cattle are all weighed.  We weigh 300 head  in drafts of 8 head so it is a little slow.  I try to keep them coming up the alley as quick as I can to keep it moving.

Halloween

This is Trevor, Michelle (his friend) and Jackson on their way to the HOWL at USU.  Jackson is supposed to be a jockey and Trevor is from the "Robinson's".  I have no idea who Michelle is.
This is Jordan and Katie.  The suit that Jordan has on is one that Jon White wore when him and Vickie went to the temple on July 7, 1977.  It is amazing that they sold suits that looked like this!

This is Nick and Karlie.  Karlie usually loves to tease Nick and wants to sit by him.  She didn't really like him in this  mask but she recognized his voice.  It was entertaining.

This is the whole bunch except my girls who were at parties.
They were Minions from "Despicable Me".

More Gathering

Bryan is good at multi-tasking.  He can talk on the phone and do almost anything.

We were cleaning up everything we could and driving them to Avon.  We ended up with sixty or so.

Alma and Bryan are headed to Keller's corrals.  I got to drive the truck and trailer the last few blocks.  My horse was glad for the rest.
