Two-Seater?

It was my turn to go to Malta, Id. with Bryan and bring cows back so I brought my camera along.  This is what I saw:
I remember Sharell talking about how great it was to have a 2-seater in the outhouse.  Personally, I can't see the benefit, but I guess if Mom had to take children out in the cold or dark, they could get the job done faster!

Bryan is chasing cows on my horse, Mouse.
He got six cows in and we loaded them and headed home.

Savanna and Chantel wanted to go for a horse ride for Savanna's birthday party.  I was happy to acomodate them.  We rode up to the East and checked all the baby calves.  Later they made tie-die shirts and had ice cream cupcakes.
Happy Birthday!

Twins

Bryan is helping(?) the other one out of the warmer.
A little milk to help warm them.

We were fortunate to get another set of twins.  This makes 3 live sets this year!  They can be a blessing and a curse.  We would prefer one regular sized calf to two small ones but live is better than not!  These two happened to be born in one of the only snow storms of the spring.  We gathered them up in the pick-up and brought them home to the warmer.  After 4 hours they were toasty so we took one back to the cow,who as waiting patiently right where we stole them from, and the other went to my dad's to get a goat mother and wait to be grafted onto another cow.  She only waited about a week before we needed her for a cow that had one born dead from Malta, Idaho.
Courtney came to see the calves.  It was the first time in her 20 years she had ever petted a calf.  Poor kid!

Yikes!

I can't believe I am teaching my last child to drive!  It has been challenging for me to talk myself into it again.  I haven't been too excited to risk my life again--but she insists.
She has done very well.  She doesn't go too fast, she hasn't mistook the gas for the brake, but she does wave at passers-by.  She can get her driving permit any time now.  She has to pass the written test first.  I am having such a great time with my teens and I am trying to not over-react when they makes me nervous--which happens often--those darn under-developed frontal lobes!

Old Paradise Church

They are planning to tear down the old church in Paradise.
Under the cream colored stucco is rock and mortar.
The Stake President as some men to take off the stucco and expose the rock for everyone to see.
My mom and I went up to see what it looked like.  Marge remembers when it was all rock.

This is the first church I remember going to--except for primary on Tuesday after school- and that was in College Ward.
My dad became a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and came here.
I went to Gold and Green Ball dances here.
I had mutual activities here.
I learned the gospel here and fell in love here.
Bryan and I were Primary teachers at the same time.  His sister was in the presidency.   I think the whole ward  was excited to see two of their own get married.
It has been a great place.
