Our theme for Young Women in Excellence this year was "For Such A Time As This".

We wanted the girls to understand how important it is to know why they are here at this time and that they have a great work to do, just like Ester did. We pushed them to talk about what they learned about the value that their project centered on, and we ask them to talk for five minutes.

They came through! I was so proud of them!

It was amazing to hear them grasp what they learned. Some of them didn't get it until they were speaking and then you could see the light come on as to what they did learn.

It was a nice evening.

YW Horse Ride

This picture turned out more dark than I wanted but it isn't often I have this many horses saddled all at the same time. We had a great ride around Charlie's. The girls are getting more confident about riding down the hill and trotting around the corral. I am getting stronger after saddling that many!

Girls Camp was great! The theme was "Gratitude is Attitude" Sherleen came up with the whole thing and it was fabulous! I felt very inspired to have her and we were so blessed to be able to be with her.

The River Bottoms was the perfect place to have camp. The girls were almost always in the river.

The Youth Leaders liked going on their own personal horseride.

I had the best camp director, Sherleen, and her helpers: Joann, Ginger, and Alexis.

My counselors: Marcy, Colette, Vickie and Lisa.
It was very relaxing--once we got there--and fun!

Can't wait until next year!

Just thinking

I have the best counselors ever! No, I do not see several psychiatrists at once even though some days I probably should.

I am the current Young Women president. It is a terrific job--at times!

It is one of those jobs that you love--a lot-- and then you plan an activity and it doesn't go exactly as you planned and you second guess yourself, and question if you really had it all together as you thought you did,

and then you plan some more with your counselors and get all the love you can from them and, with the Lord's help ,try again!

It is exhausting and hurts my heart but, it is the good kind of tired and hurt that I need to grow. I try not to remember the kind of young woman that I was.

It is too embarrassing.

I hope that I have had some of the rough edges taken off.

It helps to remember that my Savior looks at me with a hurt heart and with exhaustion and exasperation and still sends me more blessings than I can ever imagine!

Thanks counselors, for your patience, love, and laughter that you share with me! You are the best!
