First Snow!

We got a nice snow storm last week!  It was good to have the moisture, but we still have a bunch of leaves on the trees so everyone that had a tree lost a branch or two.  We were lucky that the branches didn't land on the new shed!

A trailer in Sink Hole!

The county graded the road to Sink Hole so well that we can haul the baby calves home this year!  Bryan thinks it is amazing.  I would still prefer to drive them to Mantua.

A couple of cows were enjoying the feed on the top of the hill.  I went to retrieve them and enjoyed the view before I pushed them down.  This is looking east toward the north side of the corrals.

Savanna got to come with us because it was U.E.A.  It was good to have her along for the ride!

Again, I am enjoying the view from the top!  This time I am looking east from a hill in Dip Hollow toward Jensen's.  Our truck and trailer are in the very center of the picture looking very small indeed.

We hired our fall chopping done by our good friends, the McMurdies.  What would have taken us 2 days they did in 4 hours!  This is their big tractor to tromp the pit.

So Ya Think You Can Dance?

Savanna and her friends dancing at a party.  It was a Wi game that she thinks we need to have now.

Tack Shed

I don't love mice.  I never really have, despite the fact that I end up getting rid of
them.
I have flushed one down the toilet.
I accidentally stepped on one--with socks on!
I have paid my son's friend Shane, to take a trap with a dead mouse on it an to the garbage when they were 6 years old.
This is the grain bin in the tack shed.  There is usually a scoop container sitting in there, so, when I forgetfully stick my arm down into the bin  to scoop grain and I happen to see these little guys up close and personal, I throw whatever happens to be in my hands and run out of the shed.
I hate it when Alma or Shawn happen to be there.  It's very embarrassing, not to mention it messes with the tough cowgirl thing I have going on.

The cuttest little a...I mean burrow!

This little girl lives in Liberty.  We borrow the corrals to load our cows out of when they get out.  Our horses are used to her but at first they were scared to death of her!  She is very friendly and wants to be petted.  Bryan thought he would ride her.  Notice his feet are both on the ground.  She did not like it one bit.  She followed us all the way to Durfee once.  She was dog tired when she returned! I hoped she wouldn't get lost!   I would have felt bad to have to call her owner who is on a mission in Africa to tell him I lost his burrow!
I could go on and on about Bryan's cute a...
 or his little a...
 or maybe his dumb a...
it's not a fat a..
or a lazy a...
often a smart a...
I will quit while I am ahead!

The Old Guys

Snappy and Paint
These two are 20 years old.  They have seen many good rides.  Snappy is mostly blind now.  He follows Paint around and Paint takes care of him.  Snappy's best trick was jumping sage brush.  he was such a cowy horse to ride but to chase a cow out through the sage was very adventurous.  I saw more than one guy who thought he was a cowboy lose his seat when Snappy decided to turn with a cow!
