I am branching out a bit in my bread making. I found this recipe on the Internet and I like it a lot!
Put 3 cups of flour, 1/4 teaspoon yeast, 1-1/2 teaspoons salt, 1-5/8 cups water and what ever "add-ins" you like. (I tried craisins and pecans in one and garlic and cheese in another) Mix--just barely into a ball. Now leave it covered for 8-36 hours. Get out your old dutch oven with a lid and put it in a 425 degree oven for 20 minutes. Now take your dough ball and place in the hot pot and bake for 30 minutes. Remove the lid and bake for another 20 minutes.
It comes out crusty and delicious--kinda like sour dough without being sour!
If you don't like it quite so crusty put plastic wrap over the top until it cools.
Yum!
