"Get along little doogies"

We gathered the cattle from a pasture in Avon and headed them down the road to another pasture. It is hard to see just how wet we all are, but by the time we finished an hour after this, we were completely soaked-except for those of us who had a duster like Alma had on.

The cattle went along nicely. They even avoided their favorite lawn--Janet Pulsipher's! She doesn't think it is one bit nice to have cow tracks through her flowers.
Ok, I don't really blame her.
They are just so tempting when you are a cow!

It was a beautiful morning to gather pairs off the west hills. We put them in this field and sort the pairs from the dry cows.

They are heading to the Hardware for the summer.

I am good at getting back shots but I am also a horseback and I have to take what shots I can get!

Yearlings

This time of the year every yearling on the place has to go through the shute. They get a booster to their vaccine, a fly tag, and a new ear clip. It is an adventure to get this job done. We do a few steers every day for several days.
Bryan is helping keep the alley full of steers. He can do this job and talk on the phone at the same time!

This is a lovely sight. No cattle to feed!
The cloudy sky has been with us all spring. I am wondering if we are getting a taste of Oregon's weather. I am not sure I love all the rain, but I am not complaining because every day that it rains is one day less I have to move sprinkler pipe!

This was our first spring drive. I realize it is closer to summer than spring but that is what we call it. We had Big Al and Mergs along for the ride this time. We also had Cody along to talk to the sheep herder. My Spanish is non-exsistent. Austin came with us as well and it will probably be his last drive with us as he is taking his family and moving to Canada. Boy will we miss them!

Every year for Memorial Day we go to Paradise for the Firefighter's breakfast. It is delicious! (any meal not cooked by me always is) After, we spend the next couple of hours touring the cemetary. We go to Paradise, Hyrum, Wellsville, and Avon.
This year we also delivered salt on the 4-wheeler to some yearling steers, and chased some cows that had escaped into the neighbors field.
It was a nice day to remember those brave men and women who have protected our country and have paid the ultimate price.

Scooters

These scooters came to our house about 10 years ago.
We have seen many crashes, scrapes, road rash, and bruises over the years.

But, we have had so much fun with them that I would suggest them as a gift for any kid!

(along with a nice helmet, gloves, and knee pads!)
