26th Anniversary

Bryan has always had good taste...starting twenty-six years ago!  He picked out this delicious handbag.  We also went to dinner at Texas Roadhouse.  

Pregnancy Checking

This red cow got in a hurry to get out of the alley.  The poor black cow is just bracing herself so she doesn't buckle.  The red cow ended up falling off and landing on her back (teats up;))  I should have taken a picture of it too but we were trying to get her up.  The vet got a kick out of her.

Appendectomy

My sister Dianna had to have her appendix out.  She thought her cramps were extreme but the doctor said otherwise.  Louis came over in the ambulance with her from Malad, Idaho.  Her CNA in the emergency room was her best friend from high school.  She hadn't seen her in a couple of years so she made us all laugh and lighten the mood.  Her surgery went well and she came home the next afternoon.  

She now joins the club since Jackson and I don't have ours either!

The calves look good this year!  The feed wasn't quite as good as in years past but the calves still did well.  We sold them to Chris Drakos for $1.66 per pound.

One Year Older

As much as I hate to admit or believe it, I am one year older.  I am blessed with a great family and terrific friends who made my day one of the best.  I didn't spend the whole day on a horse for a change, but every other day this week I have been horseback.  How lucky am I?!

Jackson, Montana

This is what the morning started out like... partly sunny and cool.

Bryan is sorting the steers toward me.  I have to run the cut-back gate.  The weather changed quickly to snow and lots of mud.  The good thing is that the facilities here are so good that we weighed and sorted 340 head in about an hour.  My hands were freezing!  I hadn't planned on running the gate, but John ask if I could so we gathered enough coats out of the back of Bryan's truck that I could work.

By the time the trucks arrived, it was snowing pretty darn good.

I got some pretty good mud splashed on my face.  My jeans were covered!  

When we got back to the office in Dillon, we were dried off and warmed up.

  Judy's cat likes to sleep in her file box.  He just curled up there and napped while we chatted with John and Judy.

John has mentored Bryan for the last 26 years.  He has always had good advise and helped Bryan along.  He always sends home lined leather gloves for me and asks why I don't come up more often.  I feel very lucky to have known John Erb.
