The Baldwin family gets together every Christmas and has a nice dinner and Santa comes to visit. We held it at the Hyrum Civic Center this year.

She had such a good time and looked so pretty! The dance was held at the clubhouse at the country club. I am thankful for a good bunch of friends to help raise her!

Thanksgiving, After all

This is what happens when you eat too much turkey on Thanksgiving.

You are so tired from eating so much that you don't care what Sierra does to you hair, if she will just leave you alone long enough to have a nap!

In all the excitement of Jackson coming home, I forgot to post these cute pictures of Thanksgiving. We had a great time at the White's for dinner and were glad to be inside because it was a whopping ten degrees outside.

He is Home!

Well, he is finally home! He has had a good two years and has had some good stories to tell. He is a little taller than when he left because he isn't a head shorter than all of the friends like he was when he left and he hasn't gained any weight, just redistributed it. His voice has changed and I keep looking to see who is talking to me! The airport was fun and fast. We took grandma and went to Maddox for lunch. Now onto his next mission--real life!

It's Here!

Right as the storm is arriving.

This is about 7:00 p.m.

We don't very often get a blizzard warning, especially in November, but this year is different. It looked like maybe it wasn't coming but by about 4:00 p.m. it was here. It came in sideways and swirled around. The snow blew up against every window in the house. We were just hoping we didn't lose electricity because we haven't had a fire in the fireplace for twenty years and it wouldn't be a good time to test out our old chimney. It was over by about 10:00 p.m. and dumped about six inches on us.

The next couple of days, it got down to -10 degrees at night. Talk about add insult to injury. That was not too fun. We had a calf born on Thanksgiving morning. It was 8 degrees and there was a foot of snow where he landed. Bryan and I happened to be there and waited for him to arrive. We scooped him up and put him on a pile of hay and let mama do the rest. When we came back to check on him around 4:00 he was up nursing and looking good. We put him in the pick-up and hauled him to the calving shed for the night. He loved the straw and burrowed down into it immediately. The cow was a little more trouble to get in, but we got her.

Thankful

I am thankful that our power didn't go out during the storm last night.
I am thankful that I didn't get stuck while we were feeding the cows.
I am thankful that the girls made it safely to piano lessons.
I am thankful that the snow-blower started on my first pull (Bryan tried last night and it wouldn't start).
I am thankful that I don't have to cook a turkey for Thanksgiving and that we get to enjoy dinner with the White family tomorrow!
